Bytemark Names Vishal Arora as New Chief Technology Officer
New CTO to prioritize technological innovation in company’s next stage of global growth.
Bytemark, an industry leader in transit fare payment solutions, announces the appointment of Vishal Arora as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer. In this role, Arora is responsible for accelerating Bytemark’s innovation agenda to drive new and long-term growth opportunities around the world.
“We have a deep bench of technology talent at Bytemark, and we are pleased to promote Vishal to our executive team,” said Eric Reese, Chief Executive Officer. “His strong performance across multiple strategic functions positions him well for success in his new role, and we look forward to his leadership as we find new ways to improve the transit experience for our clients and their passengers.”
Arora has played a key role in architecting and executing Bytemark Connect, the company’s account-based fare payments solution, as well as expanding Transact, the payment processing and open payments suite. He has been a client champion for Bytemark’s clients in both North America and Europe. In Toronto, he was instrumental in delivering an all-in-one PA-DSS certified solution for on-board ticketing, and validation to Metrolinx. In the coming year, he expects to see big strides in the adoption of Bytemark’s open APIs for ticketing, payments and validation; an expansion of the parking suite Spaces; and the roll-out of several exciting partnerships beyond existing ones with VIA, Hacon, Transit App, and others.
“It is a privilege to lead our company’s technology vision,” said Arora. “Bytemark is making transit easier and more accessible than ever before, and I’m excited to expand the impact of our solutions.”
Arora is well-acquainted with the transportation industry, having previously worked for WageWorks Commuter Services, Ground Travel Technology Team, and InterRide. He joined Bytemark in 2015 and has since held several positions of increasing leadership within the company. Most recently, he served as the Senior Vice President of Delivery and Operations.
