Bytemark, an innovator in the Mobility as a Service (MaaS) space, is expanding its leadership team with a new hire focused on the Canadian market.

John Pagliaro becomes Executive Director for Canada. With a career spanning more than 30 years in the payments industry, Pagliaro previously served in leadership roles at Moneris, American Express Canada, and Royal Bank of Canada. He brings a unique understanding of the Canadian fintech sector, which he will use to help Bytemark bring the future of mobility to the market.

“Adding John’s experience and leadership to our management will strengthen our ability to serve our partners and clients and also increase our presence in the payments and fintech space, not only in Canada but also globally,” said Eric Reese, Chief Executive Officer of Bytemark. “I am excited to have John join us. John’s talents and ability to deliver complement Bytemark’s culture. Plus, his expertise will foster our continued innovation now and moving forward.”

During almost 20 years at Moneris Canada leading National Account Sales as Senior Vice President, Pagliaro sought and developed new growth opportunities while managing the organization’s enterprise portfolio, working with some of Canada’s most prominent businesses to create seamless, secure customer experiences using the company’s emerging payment technologies. Pagliaro’s clients included Metrolinx and other top Canadian transit agencies.

“John’s unparalleled knowledge of the Canadian market will help us build on our successful deployments with York Region Transit, Union Pearson Express, and PRESTO E-ticket, with more to come in the transit, parking, and MaaS spaces,” Reese said.
