Bytemark Provides NHL Fans With Mobile Ticketing Solution

Integrating Transit GO Ticket with ‘Kraken + Climate Pledge Arena’ mobile app allows hockey fans to easily secure transportation to the next big game.

Bytemark, an industry leader in transit fare payment solutions, announces the first deployment of digital transit ticketing for a professional sports franchise in North America. The Seattle Kraken is now using Transit GO Ticket directly through their Kraken + Climate Pledge Arena mobile app, ensuring NHL fans in the Puget Sound region can easily secure a ride to the next big game.

Transit GO Ticket is the mobile ticketing solution Bytemark launched for the Puget Sound region in 2016. Annually, it provides more than 44 million riders with a quick, convenient, and contactless way to purchase fares from King County Metro, King County Water Taxi, Kitsap Transit, Seattle Streetcar, and Sound Transit. Because passengers can buy products from any of these transit agencies using the same multimodal journey app, Transit GO Ticket consolidates transportation services in a meaningful and comprehensive way.

“Taking transit to the new arena cuts congestion and honors our region’s commitment to sustainability,” said King County Executive Dow Constantine. “Fans will find transit easy to use, as well as equitable, reliable, and safe. I look forward to cheering on the Kraken all season long.”

“We’re thrilled to be able to partner with our transit agencies and Bytemark to offer this transit subsidy for our home Kraken games,” said Rob Johnson, Vice President of Sustainability and Transportation for the Seattle Kraken and Climate Pledge Arena. “Taking transit will be the fastest and greenest way to get to Climate Pledge Arena and we’re grateful to our transit agency partners for their hard work to make this dream a reality.”

“Using Transit GO Ticket on the Kraken + Climate Change Arena app makes it easy for fans to take Link to the rink,” said Sound Transit CEO Peter Rogoff. “With the opening of Northgate Link, fans can now get from the Kraken headquarters in Northgate to downtown Seattle in just 14 minutes. Then it’s just a short ride on the Seattle Center Monorail to enjoy the game.”

“The integration of Transit GO Ticket with the Kraken + Climate Change Arena app is just one example of what Bytemark is doing to promote public transportation in new and exciting ways,” said Stephanie Schrauth, Vice President  of Product Strategy & Marketing at Bytemark. “The partnership between the Seattle Kraken and Transit GO Ticket has been customer-centric since the very beginning, allowing riders to access transit in an app they are already using for their game ticket and concessions.”

Transit GO Ticket is part of the Passage ticketing suite, one of six mobility suites in Bridge, which is Bytemark’s Plan, Book & Pay platform. The company has similar mobile ticketing solutions in place for transit agencies across Europe and North America.
